You know why true black and white cookies are so fucking good. Because they are cupcakes. Seriourly think about it. When you get a true New York Black and white cookie it is basically the top of a cupcake. It’s a large fluffy cupcake top with frosting on it. Genius!!! Pure genius. You get the best part of the cupcake ( the cake bottom with all the frosting) and on top of everything you call it a cookie!! I am a little suprised it’s not called a cupcake top. Damn, lets just say the cookie lucked out with this one!!
I stumbled into a new bakery called BATCH, so I decided I would try it. They didn’t have the Sugar cookie I was initially craving, but they had a pretty good looking Peanut Butter cookie. At first I tried to ask the women if she had a Sugar cookie, but she just explained to me that they don’t make their cookies with sugar. Then I asked where I could get a sugar cookie and she told me I have to go to Menorah. Now I don’t know if she couldn’t speak English or if there really is a place called Menorah that sells Sugar cookies. Either way, I bought my Peanut Butter cookie and went on my way. As I ate the cookie I discovered that there were big chunks of salt on the cookie. F-ing gross. Who makes their cookies with salt or puts salt on their cookies as a topping.
Luckily I found Insomnia cookies. Now they make a Bad Ass Sugar cookie. They keep them warm and they are cheap as hell. For $1 I got a warm chewy Sugar cookie that knocked the salt right out of my mouth. Not too floury, their Sugar cookie is basic and flavorful all in one bite.
So I haven’t eaten a decent cookie in about 1 week now and I think it is about time. 2 days ago I ate a stale Momofuku milk bar cookie, it didn’t do the trick. Don’t get me wrong even a stale Momofuku cookie is still better than most, but it isn’t the same as a fresh baked one.
I’m thinking a chewy sugar cookie is going to happen today. I feel like the sugar cookie doesn’t get enough recognition. Probably because so many people make them so crappy that by the time you get to a good one you are sick of eating shit cookie. Today’s goal it to have a great SUGAR cookie. Don’t worry, once I find it I’ll post the location so you can pick one up!!. Alright time to shower and get this day started, there is work to be done. Snicker doodles are good to, but I don’t have time to get into that now.
